What Are the Differences Between the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord?

Take your boring day-to-day commute to the next level and get behind the wheel of the 2018 Toyota Camry. Power and performance are key elements of any car-buying decision and play an important role in this 2018 Toyota Camry vs 2018 Honda Accord comparison. Armed with two all-new powerful and fuel-efficient engine options, the Toyota Camry will not disappoint when you hit the accelerator.

Entry-level Toyota Camry models employ a 206-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder Dynamic Force Engine that is married to an eight-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission. With this powerful combination under the hood, the Toyota Camry will make 29 mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the highway. Are you looking for more power? Look no further than the available 301-horsepower 3.5-liter V-6 power core that will still deliver 22 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway.

Honda Accord editions counter with a base 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that can be paired with the standard Continuously Variable Transmission or a six-speed manual transmission and makes a humdrum 192 horsepower. A power upgrade is available with a lackluster 252-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that is matched to a 10-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual.

If fuel economy is a priority, the 2018 Toyota Camry and 2018 Honda Accord are available in hybrid variants. Toyota Camry Hybrids employ a refined 2.5-liter four-cylinder Dynamic Force Engine paired with dual electric motors to manufacture 208 horsepower. Married to a Continuously Variable Transmission, the next-generation Toyota Hybrid System will make 51 mpg in the city and 53 mpg on the highway – a 30% increase in combined mpg. Honda Accord Hybrid models feature a redefined 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle engine and a two-motor system.

Safety is a key element for any family sedan and the 2018 Toyota Camry delivers on all counts with standard Toyota Safety Sense™ collision-prevention systems for all trim levels. Armed with a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Automatic High Beams, the Toyota Camry is safer than ever. The Honda Accord employs the Honda Sensing® suite of safety systems across the board.
