Despite being a capable hatchback, the Toyota Prius was losing its reputation as the best hybrid on the market. Toyota engineered the Toyota Prius Prime - a hybrid plug-in - to differentiate itself in the hybrid vehicle segment. The Toyota Prius Prime won its spot in the market by being a well-mannered car with good driving dynamics and an efficient engine. The 2022 Toyota Prius Prime receives a few changes, the most of which boost engine performance and driving efficiency. If you want to check out the new 2022 Toyota Prius Prime and welcome home this new hybrid plug-in, head to J. Pauley Toyota in Fort Smith, AR today.
The LE, XLE, and Limited trim levels of the 2022 Toyota Prius Prime are all equipped with an electric motor and a 1.8-Liter 4-cylinder Aluminum 16-Valve DOHC engine with VVT-I. The Prius Prime can be driven in EV, Eco, and Power modes. An electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (ECVT) system sends engine power to the sedan's front wheels. While a regular household outlet can fully charge the Toyota Prius Prime in five and a half hours, a 240-V (Level 2) charger can do so in just two hours and ten minutes. The car has a range of 640 miles when completely charged.
When it comes to safety features, the 2022 Toyota Prius Prime boasts a myriad of them. The vehicle comes standard with Toyota Safety SenseTM 2.0 (TSS 2.0) that includes Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Automatic High Beams, Road Sign Assist, Lane Tracing Assist, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, and Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection. Other safety features included in the 2022 Toyota Prius Prime are Intelligent Clearance Sonar with Intelligent Parking Assist, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Safety Connect®, amongst others.
