In October 2022, Toyota issued a voluntary recall on the 2023 year model bZ4X SUV. The manufacturer found that the hub bolts that attach the wheel of the bZ4X can loosen to the point that the wheel can come free of the SUV. This could result in loss of control of the vehicle and potentially lead to a crash. Approximately 260 vehicles may be affected by this recall.

In February of 2023, Toyota began a safety recall for the 2021 RAV4 Prime. This recall is for software that can adversely affect the EV software and potentially increase the likelihood of a crash. Approximately 16,000 vehicles are affected by this recall.
